First, let me take a moment to say this:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Okay, with that out of the way, I've been spending time on the forums and joining groups lately. I found a few notable things when trying to gain more exposure for my work. The first one is that people have become evil little bastards around here to get page views.... I've seen in many signatures people have something like "discover the secret to more page views, click here" and the link just goes to their user profile. While it amused me greatly that some people probably fall for this, and it is quite clever, its still evil.
Aside from forum posts and group features, I found an interesting (and non-evil) way to gain some more exposure. There's a group called #GetWatchers that runs an external website that dynamically shows you random deviations (you can set parameters so it only shows you art you have interest in) and for each deviation you view, it puts one of your own deviations in the cycle to be viewed by someone else. So as you're browsing art (in a particularly efficient manner the likes of which dA cant even offer) you're generally more exposure for your own work. I must say I'm fairly impressed with the ingenuity of the whole thing. Not only has it gotten me a little additional exposure, it has opened me up to an opportunity to meet new artists I didn't know existed. Some very talented ones in fact. So do yourself a favor and join #GetWatchers today! Just follow this link:
[link]But wait, there's even more good news. I got my first donation today! Many thanks go out to *
Sheridan-J for some kind words and the donation. It may have been a small donation, but its the thought that counts and every little bit helps

Aside from being a nice person (well, she seems to be at least) Sheridan-J is also one of those very talented artists I wouldn't have met had it not been for #GetWatchers.
Feature
I suppose the first thing I should say is that upon first glance of this talented artist's page, I thought she was merely a fantastic portrait photographer. I quickly realized how wrong I was.
These are some of the first images I saw. Had these been photographs, I would be impressed. However, these are actually digital paintings. Am I impressed? Well, I'd have to consult a thesaurus to find a stronger word. The detail, effort, and skill put into these realistic paintings are phenomenal.
Once I realized what I was looking at, I came to the realization that I needed to see more. On to the gallery we go!
Here we have what is probably one of my favorites from her entire gallery. As the description on the deviation says, those dragons are pretty cute! But as well, the composition is great, the details are plenty, and its very pretty to look at

Here we have another stunning piece. While I'm not sure what it's based on, it looks super cool. The textures are smooth and the image as a whole just kinda pops.
Last (though certainly not least) we have one more portrait based in reality. A self portrait this time. I can go on about everything that's perfect about this, but you get the idea. I love this one (and her sunglasses... i want them). Perhaps for writing such a nice feature she will give them to me... <3
